ActivitiesAround the camp is an abundance of watersport. There is a sailing school, a yachting harbour, cable ski and a diving school. The Weerwater is ideal for sailing, waterskieing, surfing, canoeing and peddle boats. Of course, swimming or lazing on the beach is also possible. And for those who like fishing, there are many suitable spots to be found near the camping.

ExcursionsShort trips can be made to the Dolfinarium, Walibi World (Six Flags) amusement park, the Batavia shipyard, Naarden fortress or the Muder castle and of course, the city of Amsterdam. There is a bus stop 250 meters from the camp site and by car, train or (night)bus you get there in no time.The Waterhout camp site is situated very close to the lively centre of Almere-Stad. Here you can go shopping, sit on a terrace, enjoy a film at the local cinema right in the centre of the town. You can enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants of the town or on the boulevard of Almere Haven. A visit to the market is very worthwhile. There are markets four times a week at various locations in Almere. |

Bicycle-, Foot- and Inlineskate pathsIn and around Almere there is an extensive nature reserve with attractive roller blade fascilities, bicycle and foot paths. Driving away from the camp site into the Province of Flevoland you pass varied scenery.Here you can find several forests and lakes including the Oostvaardersplassen. |
